I am also playing the family history missions with non-Cleopatra Pharaoh.
Some have played Pharaoh without problems before trying to install Cleopatra.
The problems that some (not all) players with the Sold Out version of Pharaoh and Cleopatra have reported appear to involve Cleopatra. From what I've heard (which I may not have understood correctly), the games vary: some are already patched, some include Sold Out versions of the patches, and some are stuck with an early version. Sold Out versions of city-building games cannot be patched with the original patches (or expanded with the original expansions). Also, Culture over 70 requires a zoo in Cleopatra, so the 2 Pharaoh family history missions that require Culture over 70 (Bubastis and Hetepsenusret) were modified to have zoos available. Perhaps the most important is in entertainment, where each of the 5 venues in Cleopatra supply up to 4 "points" of city-wide entertainment (as opposed to the 4 venues in non-Cleopatra Pharaoh supplying up to 5 "points" of city-wide entertainment each). There are some small differences in game play with the Cleopatra expansion. (Originally, Cleopatra did have a bug: personal funds did not carry over (when they should) in the Pharaoh family history, but that was fixed with the Cleopatra patch.)
I don't know what street means about salary carry-over. Appropriately patched, each game appears to me to have very few bugs.Īs street said, Cleopatra adds new missions with some new monuments, a few new resources, and new buildings. Cleopatra without its patch appears to me to be about as buggy as non-Cleopatra Pharaoh without its patch.
